Social/Emotional Screening

Sometimes factors such as distractibility, performance anxiety, inflexibility, social relations, or lack of confidence contribute to challenges in school. Therefore, parent and teacher behavior rating scales are usually included in the assessment. When indicated, a rating scale or questionnaire may also be administered to the child, as well as standardized measures of social perspective-taking and recognition of facial expressions. Referrals can be provided for in-depth psychological testing for more serious emotional issues, as Dr. Hill's practice primarily focuses on assessment of cognition and learning.
